If we aren't earmarking the MLE for Melo (in the event he is bought out), I would love to pursue James Johnson. One of the best lineups Miami ran last year was Johnson at the 5, and he often brought the ball up court and ran a 5-1 PnR with Dragic.

The guy is putting it all together - great court vision, workable jump shot (both spot up and off the dribble), can defend multiple positions (look at his steal and block #s), light on his feet, very athletic too.

His versatility would be utilized well on this team - he would be Diaw 2.0 in this offense.

 

Ranked #29 in defense right behind Andre Roberson

 

Dunleavy just got released by the Hawks. Not sure if he has a lot left but would be worth a call for sure.

 

Even though I'm leaning Melo and i know Indy would never give up Turner, this would be a dope trade

Would Utah prefer that to nothing ? I don't know . Anderson does have a few years remaining and if Utah wants to rebuild its not ideal . That being said , he could pair nicely with Gobert .

Here's a wild scenario , what is Hayward pulls a chris Paul and opts in ; setting up a bigger payday next year ? Then Andersons salary alone is enough to trade for him .

Are our non guarantees enough if Hayward does that ?

Anderson, NG'ed, 2 first for a S&T for Millsap with Anderson going to DET and Harris with the NG'ed going to ATL. Sign Cj Miles and James Johnson or Patterson or Randolph. Find a point guard not named MCW that can run a offense and shoot... maybe ty lawson or collison.... sign a backup center with what we have left (Dedmon, Bogut, Baynes, Nene). (If melo gets bought out, move either ariza or cj to open up space)
