The Repubs sure are determined to throw 23 million off of health insurance and give another round of big tax breaks to folks way above the paygrade of many of their supporters.

I think the days of them getting away with this are numbered.

Don't be fooled, this has nothing to do with healthcare, or taking care of ANYONE.

This is 100% approached as a tax cut and then how do we hide it to make it look like Healthcare.

Teh Republicans are such blatant self serving frauds, I can't fathom how anyone still buys into their bullshit.

Mark Warner, at great personal risk, has obtained a sneaky look at the new Senate health-care bill!

"Warner added that he had to place his hand over his mouth to keep from screaming during the ceremony’s conclusion when Sen. Rob Portman (R-OH) and Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) reportedly dragged out a bound and gagged low-income woman on birth control and threw her onto the bonfire as a sacrifice to the legislation."

The wingnuts are too busy directing their outrage du jour at Evergreen College students to be concerned with American health care. They'll get back to this after people start dying without health care which according to them NEVER happens.

Senate unveil bill. Not much different from to the House version. So, the House version was mean, after it was great. This Senate version is now the greatest ever.

Why did they take so long? They could have just used the house bill.

Well, nobody knew health care could be so complicated

On a serious note, they clearly knew the House version was a piece of crap and extremely unpopular. They wanted to make a better version. They haven't succeed, not to anyone surprise. But what option do they have now? They will just push it. Perhaps there is at least 3 GOP senators that will not go alone. Don't know... the Senate was the one institution left in Congress that is still semi-sane. We'll see if that hold up.

I wonder if Democrats in congress are secretly hoping it will pass so they can use it next year to hammer the GOP.

Honestly, at this stage, I hope it passes. No more hiding anymore. Let's see the damage.

Would you support a party that support the means to screw over millions of people in hopes to regain power? Im suspecting so.

You mean like the GOP deliberately trying to make Obama care fail? No one on the Democrat side is supporting the bill, so if it passes, it is all on GOP, Democrats have done all they can to stop it. They might hope to gain politically from the passing of the bill is just a wild guess on my part. Which party have done more for the average people is very easy to see, and it is not the trickle up party.

I hope it passes and I hope it works. My confidence isn't very high. But, the country needs something to work. Obamacare was probably 80% what we needed, and the best basic framework for a path forward, but Republicans have been sabotaging it for the last 6 years and will continue to sabotage it. We can't move forward with an Obamacare approach that will not get the necessary political support. A bad plan with good execution is going to be better than a good plan sabotaged, so I'm going to embrace this terrible bill. After a little space of time, we can assess and make reforms.

All 46 Democrat senators will vote no. As will at least two republicans (probably Collins and Murkowski, they are the most reasonable ones). But sure, spin the blame on the Democrats. Oh wait, you blame "both sides"...

ACA was passed... how long ago? republicans are on the clock NOW. Instead of fixing ACA, they are more focused on (1) hurting Obama's legacy (whatever that means), (2), showing those Democrats, and (3) getting Trump a "win" (regardless of what harm it does to America).

So yea... keep blaming "Democrats"... it shows your independence...

If you deal in a black and white world, yes that can be valid.

In the real world - they aren't anywhere equally terrible, even if one agree both are terrible.

With all its flaw, the ACA can work, but there was great incentive to make it fail by the GOP and they have done exactly that (would you support a party that screw over millions of people to regain power?)

Preexisting condition clause and max out of pockets alone makes Obama care worthwhile, did we have that before Obama care?
