I would give both of these guys A++++. These two are awesome. Why only an A and A-???

Also Seattle should be given an A+ for drafting Rashard Lewis in the second round.

I think you're grading that #18 pick with Rocket-red colored glasses. IMO, the grade should be an F, considering that guy isn't even in the league and the talent still on the board. And after this year, that #16 pick could be graded an F, after Bryce heads for Europe to join Mursad.

What a terrible draft! (Considering the "what ifs" and "shoulda beens.")

Hopefully it's not a sign of things to comein June, considering this will be the first time the Rocks have had multiple 1st rounders since....'98!

I thought Turkan played for the Bucks now. And I don't think getting Cuttino and the player that gets you Francis would be considered a bust.

Just went to CNNSI, and nope, Turksan is not on the Bucks' roster, nor anyone else for that matter.

Now I agree, "terrible" may be a little harsh in describing that draft. Cat and Dickerson are going to have long, successful NBA careers. But consider what #16 and #18 could have been. I don't think I was the only one scratching my head when they made these two selections, especially the Drew pick.

So I'll say that it was a DISAPPOINTING draft.

Actually Dallas had the #6 pick, and took Traylor with the intention of trading him to Milwaukee for Dirk Nowitzki. So I personally don't think there is a grade high enough to give Dallas considering they basically traded Traylor for Dirk staight up.

By the same token, there's no grade low enough for Milwaukee, who traded up for the privilege of picking a bust.

The '98 draft was definatley good, and probably had a better 2nd round than the '96 version (which I can't find), but this draft was simply amazing.

Good post Moe, But i don't think you took into account where these players were drafted.
For Example-Rashard Lewis at 32 is a great pick.

Ruben Patterson in the second round, McCoy in the second round.

Personally I think these deserve at least b's and probably a's.

Wow amazing that Seattle has four players selected in the second round of this draft.

Not so amazing if your team's GM had the genius to draft Todd Fuller at #11.

Fortunately for the league, said GM is no longer employed in a personnel capacity. He's an assistant coach in Detroit, where he can witness firsthand the "development" of Joe Smith, whom he drafted #1 in '95 ahead of Antonio McDyess, Jerry Stackhouse, Rasheed Wallace, and Kevin Garnett.

Ironic that you couldn't find the list of 2nd-round '96 draftees, since it includes two current Rockets and two former ones: Othella Harrington (HOU at #30), Moochie Norris (MIL at #33), Jeff McInnis (DEN at #37), Randy Livingston (HOU at #37), Malik Rose (CHA at #44), Jamie Fieck (PHI at #48), Mark Pope (IND at #52), and Shandon Anderson (UTA at #54).
