That's not a bad waiver pickup. Van Gundy wants some insurance, and Padgett plays hard at least.

I wonder why Utah released him. Losing Malone and Stockton like they did, I would think they would want to keep a few familiar bodies who can play a bit.

I like the pickup for the Rockets. He's a smart, role-playing hustler.

the guy always give his best effort...and he can punish opposing teams if they play off of him. i like the pick up....stick him at the 4 for anywhere from 8-16 mpg

How many 3's do we need?

    These players at the 3:

JJ, Pike, A Grifin, Boki, Padgett

    These players at the 2:

Mobley, JJ, Pike, A Griffin, Francis

Could it be we're starting JJ at the 2, putting Boki and A Griffin at the 3, and trading Mobley + Taylor perhaps for a damn good PF.

Van Gundy is turning this team into the 1994 team.

Easy, you forgot "non weed smoking" and "non girlfriend beating and attempted shooting"

    Padgett plays the 4.
He could probably play the 3 against slower SF.

    Easy, BINGO.

Good, and probably cheap, insurance pickup. Even with MoT returning, there are no guarantees the shoulder problem won't recur. Padgett is a heady and pretty hard nosed player who is much better than I ever thought he would be as a pro. Wouldn't surprise me if he sticks as 11-12th man if he can hit the perimeter J.

Good pickup for the end of the bench. Another experienced guy who can play a little and will work hard.

Now we have 15 people in the squad. Does that mean the quitter EG will be cut?

i hope he will not be cut, he still has talent. and i do not know what exactly happened. but cutting him, i think would be unwise.

    I agree.

I just meant that "Patch-it" is a temporary roster-spot filler while Eddie sorts out his life or visits the Springer show or something.

    I bet Patch-it got a 10-day contract.
