Question for people familiar with the SW suburbs: I haven't lived in Houston in over 20 years. Most of my visits over the last few years have been work-related, and those are usually either day trips or I stay downtown. So, point being, my knowledge of the Houston area is way out-of-date. An older family member is looking to buy a home in Houston and seems to be narrowing in on the Riverstone area. Does anyone have any knowledge of the area? A few things i am wondering about include - Crime? - Flooding? - Diversity? - Stage of development (new community, mostly built, fully developed)? - General opinions? I remember Sugar Land from back in the day, and it was a reasonably nice suburban community. It seems like it has maintained relatively well, but that is only an opinion from the outside looking in. Thanks in advance for any help!!
Crime: I would be surprised if it's an issue. Flooding: I'm not sure. I live 3-4 miles away and haven't had problems with flooding but the last couple of bad floods have gotten closer to my house than before. Hopefully since it's fairly new the developers have taken floods into account. Diversity: A lot of diversity. Stage of development: It's a very new community and a lot of it is still in development. General opinion: It's standard suburbia. Lot's of big houses that look the same.
