With Wade going home to CHI..Morey needs to kick the tires on the dragon...4years left on what is now a great contract...maybe Brewer, Bev, and rights to Lull since he isn't ever coming here..

I think Miami will be competitive enough with Dragic/Johnson/Winslow/Bosh/Whiteside - it's actually a pretty legit collection of young pros and vets. I also don't think Riley knows how to tank.

maybe Whiteside backs out. Codman alluded to it but it seemed to be more likely if Wade stayed according to his write up.

Tim MacMahon: Even if Hassan Whiteside decided to pull a DeAndre Jordan, the Mavericks would not be an option, according to a source. The Mavs made Whiteside a max offer in the opening hours of free agency but have moved on. Dallas would have to back out of several commitments to create cap space for Whiteside, including the trade to acquire center Andrew Bogut from the Warriors. Two of the Mavs’ main free-agent commitments – Harrison Barnes and Deron Williams – are represented by Excel Sports Management, the same agency as Whiteside.

Holy hell, Morey, make this happen.

Don't we still have like $7 mill left in cap room? You'd have to move Bev KJ and Brewer to get $16 million...gets you damn close to Whiteside's max

Hmmm... if you traded away Ariza and Brewer into another teams cap space you could do this and still keep Anderson and Gordon.

That would get them very, very close. Moving out KJ would do the rest.

But honestly, I've never been in favor of Whiteside.

We have $10. Moving KJ and Brew get's you another 10. Then you start thinking creatively to get the extra $2

Or you renounce DMo ($5) and trade Brew ($7) and you are there.

But I'm not a capologist so...

Renounce DMO and send Brewer+a first somewhere for no contracts back.

You're basically trading BREWER and a first for a star player on a very favorable contract for the next 3/4 years... you ABSOLUTELY do that.

Edit- And actually Morey knows this more than anyone else and probably already has a better trade lined up, I was just pointing out a way to get it instantly.

Keep Beasley. I'm on the fence with DMo. His back just worries me. AG gone.

Goudlock, brew, and KJ gets you nearly there. If we can't find a taker for Brew, certainly we can move KJ; if you do that and renounce goudlock and DMo, you are nearly there. I don't think renouncing Beasley is an intelligent move given his production and contract.
