They have. They have restricted free agency and give teams an extra year to keep their players. Durant has been with his team nine years. You want his team to have control over him longer than that?

At some point players need to be allowed to choose where they wanna be.

Welp probably going to stop watching basketball for awhile.

Can't argue the logic of rings over who cares what people think/want, but this is bad for basketball and fans outside of the Warriors realm.

Nah Jerry West worked within the current CBA rules. They replaced Barnes with Durant and the same value. Nothing wrong with this signing. Players have a choice to choose their destination.

But people still respect lebron and he did this TWICE? Both are cowards. Fans don't compare about the competition aspects of the game anymore either

RIP OKC Thunder. Presti will keep you from becoming trash but your only hope for relevance just left.
    Indeed it does.

SAS hates KD. Couldn't care less what he says.

Disappointing... but it is in essence a 1 year deal

I guess he really wants to win at least one championship (or so he thinks)

You make it sound like OKC was so far behind GS in terms of talent. OKC wiped the floor with SA, the team that almost won 70 games, and had a 3-1 lead over GS. Instead of taking that series loss as motivation to take the next step he bolts to join a team that won 73 games and was going for back to back titles. Dude can get his rings but he'll be remembered as THAT guy. It's like if Jordan joined the Pistons.

It was hilarious watching Patrick McEnroe talk about KD's decision. He seems to be a well-rounded sport fan.

Gotta love how people get emotionally attached to popular athletes when they arent even fans of the teams.
