Can you do it? Not a bandwagoner but it seems tough to do and goes to show how above the curve their team is. OKC in that final stride was probably the best the NBA could do at contesting their dominance.
if we can just pick anybody, then kanter and kawhi leonard basically make the same money i think. kanter barely played in this series and kawhi over roberson would be a huge upgrade. looking again at okc and trading out kanter's salary, i'm sure just handpicking the best value roleplayers who are good matchups with gs would add up to a pretty great team as well. and then rookie contracts would probably really skew things.
If you're going to set a challenge and want some repsonse you gotta remove the barriers by at least providing a link to where you can find this information.
I'm lost. Why are we limited to going under the cap? Also, just like GSW you can't just dismiss the chances of teams drafting incredibly well and being able to secure bird rights and bargain contracts as a result.
Throw whatever money it takes to get Barnes, Ezeli, Speights and Barbosa. You know the old saying, "if you can't beat 'em, try to break their team up."
Don't need a bench. They would all play 48 minutes. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/WoBpypbsnho" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
For starters, you want talented bigs, as that is GS's Achilles Heel...or their https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QYz9tgtkWFM
OKC isn't under the cap, not even close. In fact OKC is actually $15M over the luxury tax threshold. GSW are also way over the luxury tax threshold. Realistically, unless you are pulling a Miami big three-like scenario, any good team is going to be over the cap and quite likely over the luxury tax threshold.
Teague (8 Million) Harden (17 Million) Durant (25 Million) Horford (25 Million) Capela (1.2 Million) Beasley (1.4 Million) Troy Daniels (3.8 million) KJ McDaniels (3.2 Million) DMO (cap hold 5.8) use exceptions for the rest, might need Horford or Durant to take a million or two less in year one or hold off on Troy Daniels depending on the actual numbers.
If OKC had decided to keep harden with Westbrook, Durant and Ibaka, they could have beaten GSW I think if we brought in Conley and Durant and added them to harden, Ariza and Capella I think we could beat them.
What the hell is with the bolded parts? Just pick up a bunch of vets who were making significant contributions at minimum salary instead of a bunch of marginal rotation guys... I realize you're trying to construct a Rockets team that could do it, but still (Troy Daniels!?!)
In this fantasy, can we suggest a commissioner that will apply the rules consistently to all players, and suspend them for consistent reasons?
C- Andre Drummond ($3,272,090)/Davis PF- Anthony Davis ($7,070,730)/Ibaka ($12,250,000) SF-Durant ($20,158,622)/Greek Freak ($1,953,960) SG- Korver ($5,746,479)/Delladova ($1,147,276) PG- Westbrook ($16,744,218)/Zach Lavine ($2,148,360) I'm technically over the cap by $491,045- but you get the idea.
This is kinda cheating, using 2015 salary... but: AD - 7.07 / Whiteside 0.981 KAT - 5.704 / Greek Freak 1.95 Kawhi 16.41 / Andrew Wiggins 5.759 Bradley Beal - 4.505 / Devin Booker - 2.128 CP3 - 22.87 / Josh Richardson .525 This team is young, but would give the Warriors fits.
