    I am asking this question mainly because I want to find the next great fantasy book series to read before they are made into movies/TV. Anyone has any recommendations?

    Probably overrating Hollywood but Mistborn would be an amazing, fresh trilogy.

    based purely on books sales it would be Wheel of Time, but the special effects needed might be cost prohibitive

    In my opinion (I only read until book 6 though) that would be better if done right than Game of Thrones.

    I've never read it, but Faerie Tale by Raymond E. Feist, was a popular read in high school. Popular, because of the sex scenes, LOL.

    Sex & nudity, that's HBO material.

    This is actually a good candidate. WOT might be to difficult. Although they did manage with GOT. But WOT does not have the nudity.

    I once heard they were thinking about a movie Based on the second book of the Malazan book of the fallen. But that was years ago. And I am Pretty sure that idea got cancelled

    Stephen King's Dark Tower maybe, I know the movie has cast Idris Elba and matthew Mcconaughey (I think) so that may be a good bet.
