Production in general and production and play style that leads to winning are different things . I just want better players , if you can't get anyone that fits better than Beasley don't trade him . But if you have an opportunity to sell high I'd say to go for it .
honestly give morey credit for brining in beas....im watching him and i can't believe how talented he is offensively...and he's only 26/27....maybe he's finally matured because he looks like a fantastic player
He said CAN start, not should. I believe he is good enough to start on most teams. He is an elite scorer, that makes you worth starting for a lot of teams.
Beasley fits one spot and he can create his own shot. He's the only one on the Rockets that can do so.
Beasley brought us at least 2-3 wins otherwise we would be looking at a slightly worse, losing season.
Is there another reason? I mean apart from clearly being the second most talented player on the team.
The main reason we should keep Beasley is because he's performed. Can say how he'd do either as a starter or after the novelty of making it back to the NBA is over a full season. But given how little we're paying him, it's a no brainer. He's certainly earned retaining him next season. If he's good enough to be a start on whatever roster we have at the start of the season, then great. If he doesn't perform, run him off the bench. If he becomes trash, then we've paid SFA for him, then dump him.
Beasley is defensively a problem, however if we strike out on Al Horford and Kevin Durant, then we should try for Whiteside and/or Noah and possibly pair that kind of strong defensive C with Beasley at the 4 - simply because there aren't a lot of better options out there. If D-Mo is going to be very cheap to re-sign, then we have some decent backup 4 and 5 minutes. Barring a big name big man signing or trade, we are really weak at the 4 and 5 right now (assuming Dwight is gone).
seriously..he's making a little over 1mil if rockts keep him next season. and he's shown he can score on his own. assuming rockets dont fk up their free agency and get another all star level scorer, if they keep beasley they'd have at least 3 above avg scoring options.
Seriously im a fan of the players that are mid range snipers 3's are nice to see but a punishing mid range is crazy valuable. the more you have the less they can freely double team. For the longest time i was a huge David West fan dude is lights out from deep mid range. Its just a easier to fill bail out for when the plays fail super effective.
If JVG is the coach you might as well let him walk because he wont be playing. Right now he'd be rolling with DMo & Smith - and you'd probably see some nice defense from that duo.
