The team made it to the conference finals with 40% of their starting lineup in street clothes and then ADDED a legit point guard and let a head case in Josh Smith move on. How is he supposed to know all these guys would have a heart transplant in the off season and replace their hearts with bags of dog cr*p. You can't plan for that. These guys are showing me the character of losers. No fight except when it is too late. No maturity. Nothing. GM can't do much about that except back up five and punt.
The assets Morey collected will get him fired. Easier to replace 1 guy than 15 players. Morey is going to be reminded of an old mantra of the NBA when he gets canned: it's a players' league not a GM's.

As I said... Rockets basketball will go on, with or without Morey. I think some only see it as black & white, good or bad. "Well Daryl is in the top half and if we fire him, we're gonna go to the bottom and be Billy King level bad! Don't fire Daryl!" No, success is not guaranteed. Yes, it's possible the new guy, whenever & whoever that is, is worse. But don't be scared to make change because fear of the unknown.
He should've been fired back in 2011. His philosophy simply doesn't work. He loves number crunching too much and has no basketball instincts (Ala Jerry West helping Golden State)
He needs to stick to shopping for the groceries and let the coach cook the meal, oh and get a good coach like Adelmen or JVG instead of Morey yes men.
