Your loved ones will probably suffer more if your mind goes first. It might be excruciatingly painful, but with love and morphene, it'd probably be more rewarding to tough out your last days with people you know.

 

Batman, then I wouldn't have to feel stupid about saying a crapload of cheesy stuff.

 

Spiderman, Batman is a millionaire and has a cool car but he doesn't have any real powers. I'll take spidey strength, agility, and spider sense over a utility belt.
