Beer. Tons and tons of imported beer from all over.

I love wine with a meal, but that's the only time I drink it.

It's sooooo hot! Milk was a bad choice!

Plus...some riverwater in your wine, boooo. Some riverwater in your can of beer, whatever.

I would've picked beer 1 month ago. But I've become a wine guy ever since, because I don't want to grow a belly.

Since I already work for a wine importing company, the choice is obvious:

    BEER!

    12 oz beer = 150 calories
    12 oz lite beer = 110 calories
    5 oz wine = 90 calories

I choose wine. It's so versatile. You can cook a meal with it. Poach some pears in it for desert. Plus it's loaded in antioxidants and fights heart disease.

But i like it coz it lends a certain air of pretentious snobery.

Nothing like drinking a glass of vintage Romanée Conti and thumbing one's nose at the beer drinking redneck peasants.

Hmm, from looking on the internet, beer may not be as bad as I thought. I wouldn't say that it's healthier but from a lot of the articles I looked through, a lot seem to say that it is could be as healthy.

One theme that I did see was that people who drink wine typically have healthier lifestyles and eat healthier food.

Typically, you can drink a lot more beer than you can wine. It is pretty easy to polish off a pitcher of beer while it is a lot tougher to drink an entire bottle of wine. I've done it, don't get me wrong, but not often. I can regularly knock out a pitcher of beer and then some.

Outstanding. Thanks for the heads up.

Thought I'd mention: I'm jonesing for a river trip. May can't get here fast enough. Hell, the first weekend the temperatures are in the 90s, I may head up there.

    Exactly.

What would you rather have when having a cheeseburger, pizza, fried chicken?

Beer goes more with American food...(and German)

That's a tough one...........I love wine and consider myself a bit of a snob, but I'd hate to be deprived of beer. Thank goodness I don't have to make this decision.

I love to tout the health benefits of either to anyone who ever raises their eyebrows at my consumptiveness.............but my guess is that all these health "studies" are either pandering to a very influential industry or are outright being paid for their findings.

I agree, I prefer beer with those foods absolutely. I'd still take a great glass of wine over a great beer because to me, there's no comparison.
