No but I left Home Depot today to go south on W. Loop and it was a disaster. All the people now taking the tollway are going through the intersection of Westpark and W. Loop and it sucks. It took me probably 10 minutes to get through that light. Then I couldn't get in the left turn lane to go South so I had to go straight and turn left on Rice. If you intend to get on the tollway, don't do it there during rushhour. It sucks!!!!
Traveling the entire distance as is accessible, roundtrip to and from work today, it cost me $4.50. That, sir, is an outrage. But I must admit cruising along the tollway while staring at the suckers on 59 and 610 started to make it worthwhile, until I hit the last westbound exit where traffic came to a standstill. Aside from that and the toll, it ain't half bad.
I tried to get on that beotch today and wasted more time trying to find an on ramp from the westside. I was pissed. How are they keeping just anyone from getting on that thing?
WTF? They did not build (or that I can find are planning to build) a ramp from southbound Beltway 8 to Eastbound Westpark Tollway. You have to go east on Westpark all the way to Gessner to find a ramp or westbound all the way back to Old Westheimer. I realize that it is a very complex intersection but Cmon, that's got to be the #1 traffic pattern for the dam thing.
that is very expensive considering 3 tolls get your from 59 north to 59 south and that is only 3.75 Rocket RIver
I guess that is why they only built in 2 lanes in each direction...cause they don't expect people to ride it. It seemed odd that they'd build a freeway w/ only 2 lanes. C'mon, what modern freeway only has 2 lanes? That means that someday their just going to have to widen it using more tax money.
Anyone who has been out to the Grand Parkway, where the road will eventually end, knows that many people will end up riding it. You wouldn't believe all of the new houses being built out there.
