UPDATE (6:50 p.m. ET): The Rockets could also get in the hunt for an extra big man, or for a veteran point guard now that they've handed the keys to Aaron Brooks and Kyle Lowry. They have $1.568 million of their mid-level remaining, but I need to get full details to see how close they stand to the luxury-tax threshold following today's three-way trade with Memphis and Orlando. Portland also has its full midlevel exception ($5.585 million) and San Antonio has $2.085 million of its midlevel.

We don't need a big man. We need the same thing we needed, yesterday, the same thing we needed last season and the season before, a legitimate pg.

We don't need either of them...unless we let Cook go. Or Hayes.

I doubt we get Moore, and Joe Smith is going to Boston.

    Yes we do.

And at this point we have a chance at getting a decent big man to come off the bench.

We have no chance to get a solid pg.

This is where we should go for Stephon Marbury.

I haven't seen much of Joe Smith play lately, but I do vaguely remember being pleasantly surprised by his post defense.

If his D is still good, we could use him in contrast our poor post defenders we have in Scola and Landry. Plus he wouldn't be as big as a liability as chuck.

Moore is more suitable for our team. I think Smith is similar to Scola

If we are really looking to the future this makes a little bit of sense, bring him in a basically a coach for our young PGs.

I'd love to have Cassell's personality around guys like Brooks, Lowry and Wafer, even if he doesn't play much or at all.
