I picked up NFL Street 2 last Friday. Anyone else playing this? I have been struggling through so far but think I may have turned a corner last night. I came out and beat the Texans in a challenge fairly easily, and got Andre Johnson. Then I had a hard time winnign a second challenge. I finally beat Washington last night and picked up Sean Taylor, then I turned it off. I hope I can get back in tonight and beat a couple more teams now that I have a little more talent. The main trouble I have had beating the NFl challenge is not being able to score but screwing up and scoring without getting the wall dive. I can get the wall passe sin easily, with AJ, but half the time I try to wall jump and my guy is a step slow getting into the end zone. The game although frustratingly hard at times is actually really fun. I am also anticipating the relase of NBA vol. 3. It looks really good and I am looking forward to the Dunk contest. and palying with T-Mac and Yao!.
NFL Street 2 is good game. The wall moves are crazy, it took me a few times to get used to it. I havent played it enough to beat the NFL challenges yet. I cant wait for NBA street 3 to come out either. The street games are my favorite sports games.
One thing I found is that you have to have one good OL. One of the problems I had was that I got near the goal line then all of a sudden I couldn't block anyone long enough to run to a wall and dive in. I added a couple of lvls to my OL's blocking and speed and that made a huge difference I also just figured out how to guess the play type. That makes it pretty easy. You can almost tell what play is called by looking at the computers formation.
Is it worth buying or renting? I liked the 1st game, but got bored after about a month. I think there are more online games in the 2nd version. Just curious.
I was thinking about getting NFL Street 2 the other day due to a great deal. IIRC, it cost like $13 after a mail-in rebate, but it was a one-day deal I believe. I didn't really care enough about the game to bother going through the whole process, so I didn't get it. I'll probably check out NBA Street vol. 3 when it comes out, but most likely just as a rental (unless I can find a similar deal for this game). I've always liked the Street series much better than the Live series by EA, and I'm sure this wouldn't be a bad game. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe th GC version is supposed to have Mario and some other Nintendo characters. That ought to be fun to watch. Too bad I'm trying not to like EA. Chances are that I may even check out the PSP NBA Street game as well, if I get the chance. Stupid EA Big studio ( think it's them) making games I like.
http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/messageview.php?catid=18&threadid=431250&highlight_key=y&keyword1=street Deal is good all week. Thinking about picking it up also, but like stated above, i got tired of the first one after about a month but for $13, why not? NBA Street Vol.3 is going to be majorly S-I-C-K. I want to pick it up, but will probably wait till it goes on sale since i dont play video games as much as i used to.
That's what I get for reading just thread titles. Turns out that the place I read that deal at got the deal dates wrong ( I think they thought it ended on the day it actually starts) and what you showed is the correct one. It is a tempting deal which I'll probably mull over. If nothing else, maybe I can get a copy and then find somebody that will buy it off of me for like $25-$30. I'm sure I can get the guys who said Zelda was coming to the Xbox to do that deal.
Bought it today with the Target deal. I haven't played a lot yet, but the controls are a little too stiff compared to NBA Street. Haven't played the first one, but the reviews I've read so far is that it's NFL Street 1.5. I NBA Street 3 should be sweet. They're taking away Gamebreaker lvl2 and adding Tony Hawk style dunk controls. It might not be a true sequel, but rather a change in style.
Ok I played for a couple of hours last night and found an exploit. It seems when you play NFL Challenge and do one of the challenges where you can earn a bronze, silver or gold medal, you can get a ton of dev points. If you do the challenge and get silver or bronze it asks you if you want to try again. IF you click yes you keep the dev points you earned and get another shot at it. If you get gold or hit quit challenge the challenge ends and you can't repeat it. So I start the challenge where you have to complete12 consecutive style passes to get a gold. I have Andre Johnson and he can catch just about anything. SO I play for a bit and struggle at it because I am trying to throw the ball downfield, and he either scores or the pass gets deflected. You only play to 21 so if you score quick you don't get enough chances to complete several passes. After trying a couple of times I got an idea. You don't have to win the game you just have to complete the passes. So I started calling the jump back pass. I snap the ball and ran my QB right at the jumpback WR. When I got close I did the style pass and he almost always caught it. The problem with the Jumpback play normally is that it is easy to catch but hard to get yards. But in this challenge i could care less about yards. I went 4 and out with 4 catches on the first drive then let Seattle score and get a 1. Then I went 4 and out with 4 catches on the second drive, let them score and get a 1 then I caught the first 2 passes to give me 10 for the silver, then I let my QB get sacked for a safetyThen I let them score quick, and game over. " You got a silver medal, DO you want to try again?" Sure, wash rinse repeat. After all was said and done I ended up with close to 12,000 dev points and now have several really good drafted players. I also had an easier time beating the Ravens in the challenge where you choose a player for your team. I now have Ray Lewis, Sean Taylor, and AJ to go with a really good drafted QB and RB. The only thing to remember is if you want to keep going don't get gold or choose quit, once you do that the challenge registers as complete and you can't do it anymore.
I was looking at screens of NBA Street 3 yesterday and thought that one of the guys looked like a Beastie Boy so I did some checking and apparantly they're going to be a team in the game (unfortunately wearing Knicks jerseys). Here's a trailer of them talking about it with some video footage of the game. http://www.gametrailers.com/player.php?id=4561&type=wmv That just sent this game from a maybe to a definatley. RC: Yes the GC version has a team with Mario, Luigi, and Peach.
hahaha sweet, its better than 3LW that were in the first Street plus, Beastie Boys must be some hardcore NBA fans, remember they were in NBA Jam Tournament Edition on the home systems when they came out.
