Ok, here’s the deal.

I need some type of Rolodex program I can run on XP. I’m not much of a computer guru, otherwise I could probably design what I need with Access.

It need to be able to search 2 fields , Company name and Keyword ( brand name ) .

I need a least 6 searchable Keywords ( brand names ) per company record. Plus the basic stuff like Phone, Fax, Contact,
    E-mail , Etc, Etc.

I do a lot of purchasing, and will use this program to keep track of my suppliers and the brands they sell.

    Please help !!!!!!!

I don't use those things, so I can't really recommend one, but go here and you'll find some of those type programs. I'm sure you can find a bunch more just doing a search on Google.

I use ACT! by Symantec (~$170). YOu can search by some 20 fields. It is available at www.symantec.com or at Office Depot/Best Buy/CompUSA etc.

If you can live with a previous version of Act!, Act! 2000 for $13 + S&H.

Reading at a few web sites, it might not be.

It would probably need to be the 5.04 version and the 9Software deal is likely the 5.0 version.

I don't know if you would be able to find an older unlicensed version of Act! (and if they would still register an older version); the upgrade route might be a lower cost option.

It seems like there is a Act version 6 out, so 9Software might be clearing out some version 5.04. It wouldn't hurt to ask them for a version #.

    Version 6 upgrade

Like DoD, I don't use that software, so an actual user would be able to give better info.

Maybe there is another BBS member who is familar with Act and could fill us in on it. Another thread with Act in the title?

    Edit:

There is a mention of a patch here: Patch that possibly could allow you to patch/upgrade a 5.0 version to a 5.04 version.

Another mention of the patch/upgrade concept:
