I recently have need to adopt my 18 year old former stepson. Being that he is a legal adult now it seems to me it should be a relatively easy process since I just need his consent. I saw a recommendation online for a service called RapidAdoption.com who will prepare the paperwork and help you through the process. Has anyone used this service before? It seems to be a country wide service but I'm sure the forms and requirements are different depending on what state and/or county you live in. I just want to make sure I don't blow $375.

Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

So I can put my former stepson on my medical insurance. He still lives with me, but wouldn't be considered eligible by my insurance provider since he is no longer my stepson.

You can't beat them or starve them anymore. What is the purpose.

Yes. He is fine with it. There won't be a name change or anything. This is strictly so I can legally put him on my insurance and he has Crohn's disease so having good medical coverage is kind of important. He knows that.

So I take it no one has any actual experience, legally, doing this?
