    I think you misunderstood my point (if there is a point).

    I was just saying that many immigrants tend to work harder than natural-born citizens. I've never met a immigrant beggar. I've been accosted by many US-born homeless. Sometimes you see the beggar pandering with some sign right next to the Hispanic guy selling fruit.

    This assumes that most U.S. born homeless are homeless because they aren't willing to work hard. The truth is that there are homeless folks who work full time jobs. Even more than that, though, most homeless have mental disabilities that prevent them from working full time jobs, or severely limit the kind of work they can do.


    But aside from that I understand the point, that there are immigrants who have lived under conditions with less opportunity, and once they are here they work harder to seize and appreciate the opportunities given to them, than many natural born citizens who take the opportunities for granted.
