Did anyone else notice that when the Rockets took quick shots they seem to get better shots? Against Seattle anywway.

On the contrary, I felt there were several occasions where the Rox put up the ball without working for a shot. A good example last game when we were first beginning to pull away. Francis put up a "dagger" three with about 22 seconds on the clock and nobody under the hoop.

I kind of understood becaue he was trying to make the dramatic point, but he did the exact same thing on the next possesion. Essentially two turnovers, but the non-stat sheet type.

However I agree with your premise, dribbling the shot clock down is aboutr our worst offensive set. Work the ball. take the good shots, and hope Hawkins can hit enough to keep the defense honest, seems to work pretty well.

It is called Early offense, and Dallas and New Jersey do it very well.

The point of the 5-man offense, the motion offense, the passing offense or even the ISO offense is to create a good shot.

If the team gets a good look with in the first couple of seconds of the shot clock then the shot should be taken.

Early shots open up the offense. If we hit a couple in a row, then someone has to step out further and leave space underneath. I don't think it should be used often, but if the offense has gotten stagnant, go for it.
