I think that at this point, we see the team we are going to bring into training camp. Our situation this year than last, but we remain in a interesting situation because of our point guard situation. Let me preface this by saying I realize that both DA and Tmac will be playing a bit of the point. But still, thinking in the tradtional 5 man thought, we are still relying on Bob Sura and MJ at point guard. I think that all things considered, these guys played out their skulls last year. I just dont see either as being effective, more present but LESS effective. I think that health for Sura and MJ's contract status could be big problems for us and I hope that we are still keeping an ear to the groud on a solid pure point guard.

I am happy with PG duties spread between MJ and either Sura or DA. We have have 3 guys who can give you legit NBA PG minutes--though two of which tend to get injured a lot. Compare this with midway last year when we had ZERO legit NBA point guards and the difference we made with just one was available (when Sura was healthy or when James arrived).

I feel good about ours 1s and 2s--though we may have a glut of guys who can give you SG minutes (DA,DW,BS, JB) if they are all healthy. Having 5 quality guards, two of which are combo guards (2/1) who can also play some 3, in addition to Tmac, is a good thing.

I'm with Brooks. People are getting spoiled, thinking that we need a potential all-star at every position... I like Sure or James at the 1. Even Anderson can play some point. I would rather have another big man to come off the bench.

I have no problem with MJ and Sura....

and it's evident 1200 people seem to want Sura as the starting PG.

I wish I knew more about DA. If he can feed Yao where he wants the ball (as some have said), I'm almost satisfied at PG. This alone will push Wesley out of the starting lineup and guarantee DA important floor time when the game is on the line no matter who plays the other guard position.

As has been said many times before, the problem with Sura and James at the point is Sura may miss a lot of games and be worthless by playoff time and James is a ball hog who can destroy the continuity of our offense. MJ also does stupid things at critical times on occasion. I'm not an MJ "hater". He's great as a backup but turning the PG position over to him as a starter scares me.
