One Little Victory What do you think? It's a fast-paced song. It's Rush....kind of a weird single. Ged seems to be singing at a higher pitch. Did I mention its kind of strange? It's kinda cool and will probably grow on Rush fans. Got to wonder what the other 12 songs are going to be like on Vapor Trails? Hmm....
Why did you think it was strange ? Sounded like typical Rush to me.It reminded me of a lot of their newer stuff...not bad ...but not really good either.I hope thats not the best on the album.
The song definitely cannot be mistaken for anything other than Rush. All the familiar elements are there. I guess I find songs with background lyrics of "uh....huh-a-huh" weird. Or maybe I'm weird.
I need to hear it somewhere other than that little streaming thingie, not getting the greatest sound from it. I hear the uh huhs...annoying....The song starts off like its gonna kick @$$ but just kind of goes wrong.
Okay....for you few to no Rush fans...some more tunes off the new album....beaming at you in internet time with some fast-paced, chaotic, busy Rush MP3s(scroll down to the CD cover and the 3 2 minute MP3 tracks). . I have to say I like what I'm hearing. Ged's voice sounds re-energized. It kind of reminds of Retro Rush. The guitar has got some funk and spunk working with some dreary, heavy tones. The drums are working their magic like usual(one track starts off sounding a little like a funk "Hot For Teacher" by VH ). Ged has some serious bass chops working that would even make Jeff proud . I feel an energy working with the music....as usual its thick on the chemistry. I'm hearing good things from other Rush fans on the new album. Unfortunately, I can't catch anything on the radio...as usual....so the actual sound may differ from the internet sound. The MP3s sound better than the original song I posted to....more ooomph. If you like Rush, then why don't you sound off. Surf
Jesus...okay...maybe "pitch" isn't the right word. I didn't know my words were under a microscope. How about he sounds more like the Ged of old who could reach those higher notes as opposed to the Ged of the later years who rarely sings those higher notes. Hope that satisfies your microscopic lens . Grizzled....my sentiments exactly. Surf
