Some people don't even have cable TV, not to mention cable modems.

Now that I've got this slick new connection, is there such a thing as free online gaming anymore? I had loads of fun playing Diablo back in the day, but I haven't done any online gaming in years...

I'm pretty sure some games are still free. I think Uprising had a thread about a free MMORPG a while back ("SilkRoad" IIRC). Not sure about other types of games though.

Pretty much all online PC gaming is still free, with the exception of MMO games like World of Warcraft or City of Heroes/Villains.

    Otherwise, you're GOOD TO GO.

The only thing more important to me then having high speed internet at home is having a computer to use it with.

You know? I wanted to get a satellite connection for my house in the Catskills (the house is in very secluded woods) because there is no cable connections. So we have Direct TV and I looked into getting their internet connection. They wanted over $600 dollars just for the equiptment! WTF?!?!?!?

Needless to say our weekend home is still without access!

Things will look a lot better once you get a color monitor.

    I know...

Cry me a river right? ;)

But there is something to the idea of being cut off from civilization when we're at the house. No phone, no computer. But I gotta have a TV.
