Well Carey won 3 in the early evening awards announced and could become the first female to win 6 or more awards tonight.
what's up with chris martin/coldplay performance? dude has gone bono like. skipping around the stage and shaking hands with the crowd. i like the old obscure hidden political statement on the hand, humble, shy-type "martin". wtf has that "gawky bird" done to him? sigh...
I missed the performance, but I can say that Coldplay is the biggest band in the world for the younger audience.
i don't consider myself younger anymore, but still consider them one of my favorite bands. debut album was the schit. rush of blood was the best. the third wasn't all that great, but better than anything else out there at the time. maybe i was being overly critical. i just remember them performing politic (i think that's the name... i've had a few diluted jack d's) at a previous grammy show or some other award show. was so bad arse. kanye's performance wasn't too bad tonight, but i thought the mary j and u2 duet stole the show. i'm not suprised that she's still around after first hearing her in middle school. queen of hiphop soul indeed.
Gee.... How about that... U2 is sweeping all the categories... again... They really need to retire the Grammys.
I think U2 knew that they didn't deserve this one. I liked how they were very gracious and humbe in their acceptance speech.
