Getting Driving Permit

Just went to the Adult Driver's Education Course (6 HRS) and completed instruction. The instructor gave me the certificate for completing the course and told me to go to the DPS office and get a driver's permit.

Question: Is the certificate all I need to bring to the DPS?

2 form of I.D as said above. Original not a copy of it
$25. They will give you a driver license with a B restriction on it

If you already know how to drive, mind as well schedule a driving test to skip a step of getting a permit.
