Umm...yeah....cause I was there at your same school. LOL They rocked! I didn't like their message, though, which was...they were gay. I don't recall what they played but wasn't it some condensed covers of popular songs from the era? Or, maybe it was just original stuff? FREEDOM JAM! WE'RE ALL FREE HERE!
I have a friend from Kingwood and they played there too (were were drinking and talking about it, hence the thread). So I know they played at schools all over Houston. They did covers. But it was Judas Priest and stuff. In 6th grade it was the coolest thing ever. They did a couple of songs at a pep rally, then they had a "concert" that night at the gym that probably cost a couple of bucks. If you were cool, you were there. I also don't think they had a message either. They just played and had a name like "Freedom Jam" that wasn't scary, and didn't do anything controversial on stage. I remember everyone thinking they wouldn't be cool, but when they did Another Thing Coming at the pep rally, everyone changed their minds real quick. lol
Check it out. Former band member: http://www.covenantrock.net/danbio.htm . Apparently, there is another band that toured with Freedom Jam and they were call "Free Fare". LOL
