With all the Spider-mania (deserved or not, you make the call,) I'm surprised there isn't more talk of the coming epic. Attack of the Clones. Forget what some, some, critics are saying. Here are my reason's to take a chance on this movie. 10. There is a rumor that Matrix sequel previews will be shown. 9. It will be a major upgrade over Ep I. Potentially as good as ESB. 8. Jango Fett will kick ass. 7. Anakin hooks up with Amidala. 6. 3PO and R2-D2 5. Boba Fett's origin. 4. First time Obi Wan and Anakin are seen in as Master and Padawan. 3. The battle of the Jedi against the droids. 2. Very little Jar Jar. And the number one reason to go see Attack of the Clones....... 1. Yoda finally fights!!!!!
And Obi-Wan says, "You'll be the death of me, Anakin." Seriously. Apparently Obi-Wan is more 'funnier' in AOTC. But Yoda will kick ass. Clip of Yoda fighting...spoiler
I got ahold of a bootleg copy and watched it last night. It's much better than it's being given credit for. I think most of the criticism is by people who forget it's a Star Wars movie directed by George Lucas. In other words, if you can't just enjoy a childish adventure movie for what it is-- if you think you have high standards for film-- don't bother.
But that is part of the fun and the hype. I'll be at the 12:10 showing at the Regal Metropolitan in Austin and one very tired dude Thursday at work.
I am gonna try to see it this weekend, I may try to go to a midnight showing Thursday night. thanks for that clip - getsmartnow.
The early word is that it's better than its predecessor, has some jaw-dropping action sequences (especially when Yoda whips out his big lightsaber and kicks some major A) and some of the most painful romantic dialogue ever committed to film. And I know I'll prob'ly see it at least 3 times in the theater.
Remember the awkwardness between solo and Leah. That's what love is man. It's screwed up. Especially when Leah kissed Luke. That always cracks me up. Hopefully they can give us some more of that in Episode II.
