Is it possible to find out who owns an e-mail address if you only have the e-mail address itself? My grandmother in-law owns some kennels in Missouri, and the AG is receiving e-mail complaints that my grandmother in-law is abusing the dogs and keeping them in horrible living conditions, which is a flat-out lie. I'm not sure if the AG is actually going to launch an investigation since they only have an e-mail address, but they did let her know that they received the complaint. Basically, since we have the e-mail address, we'd like to find out exactly who is making these baseless allegations. Thanks.
There are companies that will do it for you for a price, but I doubt they will get an actual name unless the ISP is cooperative (which they probably won't be without a subpoena). You can google using: tracing email messages : and you will see how much info you can get your self as well as companies who will charge a fee. Of course you can always post the email address here and I am sure your Clutch Fans brethren will happily spam away.
