I had the chance to see the show down near MMP this past Saturday with a group of friends. I must say that it was VERY entertaining and exciting. Seats are pricey but worth it. Best $45 I have spent in a long time. What these athletes do is truly breathtaking.

Has anyone else seen any of the shows or the one that is here in town right now?

I've seen Mystere and O in Las Vegas. Both are worth the $100+ I had to spend for the tix.

I love Cirque Du Soleil. I've seen all of the current shows except for Saltimbanco, Nouba, and Vareka.....and I've seen Saltimbanco on TV.

Both of the shows in Vegas are awesome, and 'O' is my favorite of all of them.

Alegria is the one that is here in town now. Not a bad seat in the house.

I am assuming, like me, you have seen them on BRAVO?

RM95's Girl really wanted to go when it was here in Dallas, but I secretly wouldn't buy tickets because Cirque Du Soleil is the only way I'll be able to drag her to Vegas.

Cirque Du Soleil reminds me of that South Park episode where the Romanian girls who were in a similar type show lost their grandmother (the "Elian Gonzalez" episode). After their grandmother died after having sex with Stan's grandpa, Stan's Dad didn't know how to tell them so he said, "All of you who have grandmother's who are still alive, step forward...uh, not so fast girls".

    :D

Shouldn't you guys be renaming it? How about The Circus of Patriotism? ;) j/k You obviously know that they're from Quebec, not France.

Im a little disaapointed. I was expecting the "Cirque de la liberté (Circus of Freedom)" jokes much earlier.

The BBS being down all morning must have thrown some of you off. ;) :p

I watched the one currently in town on the Bravo channel and decided to purchase tickets. I'm going this Friday night @ 9pm.

Questions: What is the seating like? All bleachers?

Should I arrive quite a bit early or was the parking a non issue?

Do they serve beer? I don't know how long I can last on a Friday night without my wheat and barley medicine. :p

They arent really bleachers. They are padded seats with no arms on risers. Pretty comfortable. The tent is air conditioned too.

I paid $5 to park at the corner of Crawford and Walker. If you get there early enough, you can park on McKinney for free (by the meters). Took us less than 5 mins to walk. Its not a mad house like some might think. Place only seats like 2,000 so its nothing like going to an Astros game.

They do serve Beer and alcohol. However, they are very strict about being on time and not getting up while the performance is going on (kind of like going to a play). There is a 20 min intermission though. Overall show is about 2 1/2 hours. They have a pre-show (basically a bunch of clowns harassing the audience) that goes on for about 30 mins before the show starts.

You could get somewhere with that. Know what the founder of Cirque du Soleil's name is?

    Guy Laliberté
