The latest controversty is the workplace spy software crap. I decided to check on one of these and see how well they hide themselves and what they could do. I found one that kicked ass! 'Adavi Silent Watch' and it can be picked up at www.adavi.com .
Although its made for LAN's and WAN's, all the info can be emailed to a specific addy.

A couple friends came over and we were playin some unreal and i decided to install this on their computers, of course, w/out them knowing. With this software, you can acually see what is on their screen in 2 sec incremnts, basic keystroke recorder, keeps track of all network activity and web url's visited. My favorite of course, is with a single click of the mouse, you can freeze their computer and they have to reboot ... great when your getting your ass kicked in Unreal or Quake ... [IMG]

Try a shareware program called VNC.

You install the program on both PC's, and get the ip address of the computer controlled. You can create a session - a window that looks just like the client PC's screen -- exactly. You can watch, or you can take control.

If they don't know about it, it could be unnerving when the mouse pointer starts moving by itself -- and doing things.

(You can create a password to prevent unauthorized access. The program is meant to help computer help desk people figure out problems remotely.)
