Hey Everybody, One of my friends had a terrible accident on October 4th on his motocross bike. He fractured his C5 and C6 in the spine and suffered a contusion (bruising) to his spinal cord. Right now we were told that he will be paralyzed from the neck down. He has some movement in his arms but none in his wrists/hands and he has no movement at all below his chest. It will be up to a year before we know if he will regain any movement other than what he has now. He owned his own business and motorcross racing was a way that he earned his living. He is definitely going to be in a wheelchair and his wife is taking off some time to help take care of him. In order to get his home ready for him to live in and help with expenses all of his friends and family are getting together to host a benefit for him on Sunday October 24th at 2:00 pm. The benefit will be held at: Lonestar Saloon 102 South 3rd St Richmond, TX 77469 There will be music, bar-b-que, door prizes, and a silent auction. It will be a lot of fun! Also if you would like to help raise funds there has been a bank account set up for him at Southwest Bank of Texas under Heath Teague Benefit. Thanks!
If I weren't going to be at a wedding in Rosenberg at the same time, I'd consider it.... But I'm booked. Sorry.
Man wish your friend the best. I will be in Cozumel or I'd come to help out. Good luck to his family. They will need a lot of help caring for him if he doesn't regain more movement.
