olerud got waived after he refused a trade to SF...he is talking about just retiring now.

keep an eye on the 1b replacing olerud...bucky jacobsen. he is a beast.

Mariners designated first baseman John Olerud and for assignment.
If Olerud wants to continue his career, the Mets and Red Sox are a couple of the teams that could pursue him. He can still be of some help as a platoon first baseman.
