    It has to be staged. i can't imagine a woman's first thought is to hit her BF over the head in that situation. If she was really that embarrassed and not ready for a proposal, she would have just ran off or insisted he stop. I mean, she would still like him and have feelings for him, right? Violence for what is really a good intention doesn't make any sense.
