Jack gave out his direct cell phone number last night. Oddly it wasn't one of those 555 TV numbers but a real number:
    310-597-3781

You'd think it would have been a cool marketing gimmick , like you get an ad from one of their sponsors but when I called it I just got "nextel user box 24...is full"

Man, last night's ep was so stupid. How in the hell could Jack and one other guy be the only ones sent out towards the signal of the Football? I've said that I go ahead and suspend disbelief because I want to see what happens next, but last night's ep was too much.

No kidding. It would have seemed that they would have scrambled the army to recover/protect it. And what happened to the F-16's protecting the president? A couple of them could have easily protected the football until whoever could get there.

What is up with the Chief of Staff of the VP?

I think there is a connection between someone in the White House, McClennan Forrester, and the terrorists (Marwan).

WHY... for the love of god didn't Jack use the "vibrate" function on his cell phone?

The same for the married couple.

I HATE CELL PHONES, and even I'm smart enough to figure this out!

I was hoping this would be like Scrubs, when they gave out a cell phone number on an episode earlier this season. They kept that cell phone on the set and random people would answer. One time I got Zach Braff and he spoke with me for 3 minutes between takes.

    Very, very, cool.

Back on topic... why the hell is Mike Novick still around? After what he did to the last president?

I'm telling you...Jack Bauer is an idiot. On the one hand, he seems to do some smart things. On the other hand, he is a bonehead.

    Spoiler:

After the "football" tracking device was disabled, Jack directs the campers who are helping out with the "football" to an old power plant facility in the area. He also keeps talking to the campers on the cellphone even though he knows the terrorists may track the cellphone signal. Jack is obviously trying to keep the series going. lol. He should have:

After disabling the tracking device, have the campers run and hide in the desert until such time as the helicopter arrives. Do not use the cellphone until help has arrived. Then, there is no way for the terrorists to find them. Instead, he sends them to the only structure in the area as if the terrorists do not have maps of the area and continues using the cellphone long after they should have stopped finally getting off after its too late with comments like "do not use your cellphone unless you absolutely have to as they can triangulate your position". Umm...a little late, moron.

The fact that all they could muster was two agents in a helicopter is hilarious. I could see them being the first to arrive but a lot of help should have arrived soon after that. It's only our nuclear launch codes. Two people is enough.

This show, while suspenseful, is full of so many holes it makes swiss cheese look solid.

If Bauer wasn't lucky, the show would be over. It makes it unrealistic but then again all this **** is happening in 24 hrs.

    SPOILER:

I find it hard to believe during a nuclear attack people wouldn't not be crapping their pants at home and instead would be trying to have a baby in the desert. WTF I mean WTF.

About the VP being indecisive - I think what's going to happen is that the aide is going to see that he's not fit to lead in this crisis and then he'll organize some coup get the previous president (Palmer) to become the temporary president. It'll be an ironic twist since that's what the aide did against palmer in season 2.

It was decent, but too much out of reality...I know Jack is a bad azz, but c'mon...

The stupid campers giving up the football...wussies...:p I think someone is invovled at the WhiteHouse...i liked that bald headed guy with the glasses the last season...

Anyway, I was thinking that same thing about the phone being on vibrate and a real number instead of a 555...if its a real number and the mailbox is full, I'd be PO'd...

About the "555." I've always had this idea: if the budget of a movie is like $20 million, and you're going for realism, why not pay the measley $50 a month and just buy a real #? They could even give the # a voicemail message in the character's voice. (Ex: "This is Bower, leave a message.")

    That's always bothered me.

Those CTU agents who go on missions with Jack are like those security officers that go down on planets with Captian Kirk on star trek. They all end up dead.

I just called the number and it said the following...

"(Automated female voice)The mailbox belonging to... (Man's voice)Nextel phone for 24... (Automated female voice) is full, it cannot accept anymore messages. Please try again later, goodbye."

You know Nextel is loving it. I love 24...
