smeggysmeg is 7'5". he doesn't need a huge vertical. he just needs to work on his upper body abit so he can bang in the post.

I have no idea, but I am 6 foot 3 inches tall. And I can jump high enough to grab the rim on a regulation goal of 10 feet.

Strength shoes, I think they probably work. I used them some in high school. I didn't really notice any change. And I've got no idea about my vertical. It's not good.

I think about a year ago, I had a 24 or so inch vertical. Add weight lifting for a year to that, and that could add a couple inches, maybe. I also somehow learned a better form for jumping AFTER I did my vertical, so it could have been higher then.

Are they the shoes w/o heels?

I used to live in a town with a top college track team, and they swore by them for track, but I'm not sure what they will do for your vertical.

I am 5"11 with regular length arms. I can grab a 10 ft rim. Any guess on my vertical? I wanna measure it...

I would guess maybe about 26-30. My friend is shorter than me, and I'm about 5'11. He can jump pretty high and can grab the rim. I could probably do it, but I haven't tried in a while.

    1. From what I've seen strength shoes work, but not for someone who already has an excellent vertical, like you. How old are you? 38 inches is very good for someone who hasn't even used any kind of strength shoes/programs.

    2. Geez, at this point, maybe 25-30? I am about 5'7 maybe 5'8 and can occasionally touch the rim. (Usually come up a little short of the rim though)

I'm 2'9" and can take a dollar off the top of a backboard and leave 4 quarters. Any clue what my vert might be?

My Vert was higher before I had a job, mortgage, car payment, a stack of bills and a ton of responsiblities holding me down...

    1) Dunno, but if you haven't already, check out:

    http://www.nutsandvolts.com/vertical/

it's got reviews and synopsises of several pay programs.

    2) Not too high. I'm 5'8" and could get within 3 inches of the rim before my knee surgery a few months ago...
