Ronaldinho scored this fantastic goal this weekend in the 4-0 win over Villareal (his second of the game). First off, the amazing control off his chest followed by the amazing turn and semi-bicyle kick. Breathtaking stuff.

On this thanksgiving weekend, I am very thankful for Ronaldinho!

the goalie actually made a great attempt at the ball but it still went in, I would have been totally surprised at the shot

you don't have to be a soccer fan to appreciate that.

    That was pretty damn nifty.

That was just crazy. And people say soccer is boring. After watching a full month of World Cup action, watching basketball and football felt like slow motion with all the starts and stops.

Yeah, I agree, the Maxi Rodriquez goal was better.

    What a goal.

The producers for Spanish League is better than EPL's now. I like they took shots of the fans responses and the celebration before the replays. EPL's shows often switched to the replays too soon and missed the unique celebrations players "performed".

Why are the fans waving white handkerchief? Isn't it a sign of surrender? Is there any other meaning in Spain?

    Here's Maxi's goal for comparison:

    <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/qWpYQxQslyg"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/qWpYQxQslyg" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>

Both were beautiful. However, a truly, TRULY great goal is: 1) technically difficult; 2) aesthetically pleasing; 3) timely; and 4) significant

With that said, I present a certain goal scored in the 88th minute of Barca's final league game during the 2000/2001 season.. it was the winning goal against Valencia (which meant Champions League qualification for the next season), plus it also completed this particular player's hat-trick on the night. And to top it all off, it was a freakin' overhead kick out of nothing.. from the edge of the area, smack into the bottom corner

Rivaldo2181 knows exactly what I'm talking about, of course ;)

That was pretty amazing. What language is the commentator speaking? I hear some English.

    It's a two-legged kick, right?

The Handkerchief waiving means that they want the coach/trainer fired. It is common in Europe.(maybe an idea for the Anti-van gundy group :D )

    He is speaking Dutch :D

Yeah that freaking sick. I had the entire game on tape but let someone borrow it and never saw it again  :(

The Maxi goal was more important no doubt and took an enormous amount of skill as well. Both Ronaldinho's goal and Maxi's were sick, no need to argue on which is better. I can post countless of sick goals from this past season so far that can rival...man I love the beautiful game.

Two of my favorites of this season:

Sheer class by Ruud. Reminds me of the Eric Cantona goal back in the day.

Super goal by Van Persie
