Heads up. This was really random, but my mom flew back this afternoon from Newark and, according to her, the Rox were on the flight. I dunno if it was the whole team, but it sounds like it because she said about 20 guys got on. Yao was on for sure. If she hadn't upgraded to First Class, she would have been sitting right next to Yao. He helped her get her bag out of the overhead, and she said he was walking fine, just slow, which make me think his foot's doing great. Of course, she didn't really recognize the others. What were they doing in Jersey?
Business class I believe. On the other hand, this shows the utter wastefulness of space in first-class seating area.
He was in the bulkhead section, row 5 I believe, of coach. So he had a bit more room than most, but still was quite cramped. The others weren't so lucky. My mom recognized Juwan when he got on, and said he wasn't too excited about sitting back there, but had a good attitude. I guess sitting back there wasn't a surpirse for the guys.
I flew with the Rockets one time back in '94 when they flew Continental to Indy to play the Pacers. Hakeem was one of 4-5 players in coach. He head was huge! Scott Brooks sat across the isle from him and it seemed like he talked the entire flight and Hakeem kind of ignored him. Rudy was very gracious and let me put my bag in the overhead compartment in F.C. even though I sat in coach. It was a specially configured DC9 with 22 F.C. seats.
Good, good. Maybe if we keep putting him in coach his attitude wil worsen and JVG will no longer feel compelled to put him in games.
no way in hell yao rides coach... or any other nba player, there is barely room for a 6 foot guy on seats in local flights, let alone an extra long basketball player. maybe your mom saw wang zhi zhi, ill believe he rides coach. but yao?
Buddy, if I'm not mistaken, Wang is currently in CHINA, and he ain't flying with the Rox... Besides, Wang is 7'+, which, uh, you get the point.
