I can't see MDA screaming at Harden, but what if Harden was playing under Pop, do you think he'd have performed so poorly or he'd be a better player?

Harden would play the Spurs way or wouldn't play.

MDA should have got on Harden's ass mid way through the 1st for his play. And he should have been loud about it.

I think its a myth to think screaming at players makes them play better.

    Kevin mchale did.

Harden sucked gane 6, it is what it is. We need to let it go

If Harden didn't listen to Pop, he would've been screamed at and benched. And that's how it should be, as proven by the success of the Spurs the last 2 decades.

Kevin Mchale held players accountable Harden didn't like it.

Therefore I'm not sure Harden is quite "spurs" material. That pop guy seems to be pretty hard on his players. /thread

If pop were our Coach Harden would have more help. That's really what it boils down to. That's separates us from them.

This is a silly narrative. If Mchale held players accountable Brewer would have been benched years ago, stop it.

Mchale got fired like all coaches get fired after a few years and their teams under perform. Lets not try to go all in on conspiracy theories to drag Harden down at his lowest point. The actual point is that Mchale should have been fired whether Harden wanted it or not.

He got fired 10 games or so into a season where, in the previous season, he got a team to the WCF that hadn't been there in years. Under normal circumstances you would not get fired so early into the next year. It's hardly a conspiracy theory to think circumstances were not normal.

McHale allowed our weaknesses to keep on festering, which was part of the reason he got fired. I'm not blaming him for the poor chemistry between Howard and Harden though.

You do not have to yell at someone but Pop should have given him the death stare. And bench him.

I blame Harden and Howard for not being better leaders. Honestly.

Harden under Pop would play far fewer minutes overall. Other players would get a shot. Pop is one of the few coaches who will play down the bench in order to preserve his main dudes.

Who knows, but maybe he would have instilled better habits early.
