It's quite the opposite actually - now there are more women who reject bbs nerds who sit around posting "I'd hit it!", which eventually will lead them to homosexuality, I think. I have no scientific proof of that, though.
Irreverent because women get to cheat anyways. If men chose to pluck their eyebrows and apply makeup we would dominate. And a beautiful man is always superior to a beautiful woman. Pitt is clearly above Jolie for example. No woman can hang with a beautiful man. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showpost.php?p=4690624&postcount=167
Granted, but I think they're more aiming it toward the fact that there are certain traits that a majority prefers. Anyone can and will be beautiful to someone, but some people are more "attractive" in the sense that more people overall are attracted to them.
I don't think it as subjective as some people think. Put 100 men in a room ranging in age from 20-40 (when most men are reproducing or looking for a mate) and show them pictures of women and I think you will find that more times than not there is an overwhelming consensus regarding which women are attractive and which women are not.
Do you sideline as a country singer? Beautiful women are much, much hotter than beautiful men. I even disagree with your example. Brad Pitt is a damn good-looking man (no homo) and he's still the ugly one in that relationship.
I would be curious to see more of the study particularly what traits where considered beautiful. Standards of beauty have changed with culture so I have a hard time that there is a standard of beauty that is being affected evolutionary. At the same time I don't buy the argument that men haven't become more beautiful. Generally health has always been considered a sign of beauty so I suspect that the average man is more beautiful now as overall health and nutrition have gotten better.
Maybe subjective is not the right word, but it is not etched in stone. The notion of what is attractive has changed wildly over recorded history. In the 1600s Rubenesque, full figured women were the first chosen as a mate. What is attractive is up to the changing whims of society and pop culture.
