Would absolutely 100% take him back for another year. He played really well as the year wore on the last two years. Him rotating with Reader and Watkins would be pretty solid, especially because if Watkins works out we'd now have three true options for the defensive line that had the size to hold up.

Exactly, I'd take his big lane cloggin ass any day. Especially if it means keeping him fresh throughout the season and into the playoffs with two young hole fillers like Watkins and Reader. Also don't forget Covington who has come along well and has held his own on the inside even while being a little slighter in frame than Reader and Wilfork.

That would probably one of the best rotations of inside DLs in the league health permitting. Come back to us Vince!!!!!

He's going back to New England to chase a ring and retire a Patriot.

He should give it one more go, but definitely play fewer downs.

I really don't know if he played well or not. I think I'd rather give the spot to a young guy.

I'm not gonna lie, I completely forgot that he was still even a viable option for the team. I just assumed he was retired, and I put him out of my mind completely. Join up, big fella! (But only if you're going to actually be productive.....)

Huge fan of the big fella, but it's almost June. I have to wonder if he's been working to be in shape for the season. Tough to be on the fence and still prepare as though you're all in.

That said, Wilford is the definition of a consummate professional (Clyde Derexler voice). I have no doubt that whatever decision he makes will be the best for himself and the team.

We graded out by PFF as the 10th best Front 7 last year, but Vince was our lowest ranked player (see below). I believe as said above he brings leadership, but perhaps as a adviser or assistant more than a player. We should have a fairly decent line this year with Watt's return, Clowney's next step, Reader's and Heath's development (hopefully Covington as well) and the addition of Watkins. Maybe if an injury happens, it would make sense to bring him back.

    10. Houston Texans
Top overall grade: OLB Whitney Mercilus, 87.4

Lowest overall grade: NT Vince Wilfork, 45.1

It’s impressive to see that, without the best defensive player of the last decade, the Texans still fielded a top-10 front-seven this year. Jadeveon Clowney continued the dominant level of run defense he flashed in 2015, while Whitney Mercilus firmly established himself as one of the league’s premier edge rushers. It’s a shame, though, that injury has zapped Brian Cushing of his dominant blitzing prowess, as he managed three combined sacks and hits this year after averaging 13 over his first three season in the league.

Yeah he's a two-way player, can play SS as well. You got me, Watkins.

I don't care what his PFF grade was for the season. As the year went on, just like last year, he had stretches where he was really good. I don't want him back as a full time starter, but as a rotation piece with Watkins, Reader, Heath, etc.? Absolutely if the price is right.

JJ Watt, Reader, Wilfork, Heath, Watkins and Covington is a six man lineup at DE/DT that is full of talent, experience and potential. Lots of ability to rotate that dline, and that's not including Clowney as a potential DE in certain sets. (I imagine he will be back to be listed as an OLB personally)
