x2! Im with you and thats why i got my GG jersey this year in black. Gives his all and probably took less money to stay home. Some people are never content with what they have on their team. Damn.

He’s much quicker and agile than Budinger. Gerald is one of the most athletic nba players in the league during his time. Budinger is nowhere near his athletic ability. I don’t get that comparison. It’s like back in the day when I read somebody trying to compare birdman to amare athletic ability

I am hoping Bzdelik can help take Green's defense up another notch this season. Last season, Green joined team late and this season Bzdelik retired before preseason started.

Green has all the physical tools to be a better switch defender, just need Bzdelik's focused coaching.

Pretty much this. Some players in the NBA "look the part." People get seduced by athleticism. But really it is the UNION of Athleticism PLUS BBIQ that makes the player. And sometimes you just have an un-athletic player with high BBIQ like Chuck Hayes.

The longer you watch basketball the more important you see BB IQ.

Good example? Gary Clark. Not elite athletically, but with a very high BBIQ, and athletically he's good enough to have an impact when on the court due to that high BBIQ.

Yeah, I mean his lack of athleticism coupled with his age pretty much was the reason he wasn't drafted.

How is chuckwagon unathletic? Just because someone doesnt run and jump like gazele doesnt mean he isnt elite physically. Thats like people saying Doncic is unathletic

    And a much better attitude.

As someone else mentioned, he’s already had a twelve year NBA career, so he must be doing something right. There have been plenty of athletic guys who flamed out much sooner than Gerald. He’s been pretty successful as a pro, all things considered.

He can’t dribble worth a damn. Low IQ. Streaky shooter. Just an example of the 2k eras fascination with athletes who can barely play basketball. It’s gotten better in the past 5 years with more skilled players now but you’ll still hear the whole “better stronger faster more skilled players” comments.

Well, you described young Lebron James. And he got more skilled with age.

Being able to shoot will keep you around a long time in this league.

Better to be a streaky shooter than a non-shooter.

You must have very low standards

You are probably fan of Suns, Wolves or Mavs?

This is true. The playgrounds are full of players that sky; but couldn’t shoot a lick.
J.R. Ryder, LaBradford Smith, Terrence Williams all had a hard time being more than dunkers & layups guys.

Take that away and they prove to be only one dimensional....Gerald can shoot though which separates him from
that crowd. Zach Levine has been working on shooting to earn more time. This is why I’m not a fan of MCW.

I believe being in Houston has matured GG tremendously. Now he is understanding his potential. The Rockets
spacing is beneficial to his offensive game. Defensively he needs to learn opposing players tendencies and go to
moves. Like football teams having percentages of the opposition and what they like to do on 3rd down and 3 yds.
[Art of War] “Know they enemy, know thyself.” Win most battles.

Strength is a weakness near the rim. Studying Chuck Haynes or Tayshaun Prince defensively would help GG.
Prince was thin and made of wire but was smart at getting to the prime spots before his opponent would. Players
often had to start be a little further out than they wished to start. Paint and baseline are your friends.....use it them
to your advantage. Chuck Hayes was strong as a bull, but helped himself by getting to the spot before his opponent.
Because of being undersized, Chuck had to deny players camping beneath the rim. When they did get under the rim
Chuck would lock the ball down low.....if they brought the ball down near the waist. If not foul hard.

Bigs like Otis Thorpe and Kwame Brown could get away with just dunks, but today’s NBA is moving toward
    all “Bigs” shooting for distance.
