I think it's worse this way. White supremacists versus pro-gun demonstrators? If these idiots were killed in the process but kept their tracks covered, there'd be political chaos over who they were and why they did it and how should we respond. If they were middle eastern, we'd all be pretty sure why they did it. Anyway, glad they're caught.

Equal But Opposite Reaction

The term “acceleration” references and encompasses two opposing forces. On one end, extremists identify “acceleration” as the perceived escalation by nefarious entities to advance “degenerate” values and influences such as multiculturalism, liberalism and diversity, among others. Destabilization by Whatever Means Necessary

Fueled by the perception that the future of the white race is bleak, these white supremacists believe they must employ any means necessary to expedite the collapse of the current system. Solutions to bring down the system range from the most extreme form, violence, to deliberate political engagement that supports destructive and divisive societal elements. For example, Tarrant referenced the need to bring about collapse by leaning in to disruptive forces, even those antithetical to white supremacist beliefs, writing, “A vote for a radical candidate that opposes your values and incites agitation or anxiety in your own people works far more in your favour than a vote for a milquetoast political candidate that has no ability or wish to enact radical change.”

I am amused, btw, by how often it seems that extremists think their own little activity can be the catalyst for some huge conflagration. I mean, it's happened before. WWI was touched off by a couple of extremists in Sarajevo. But in general it does not happen. And I don't think we're anywhere close to a race war or a civil war that these guys think they can ignite. Supremely irrational self-aggrandizement.

 

The assassination in Sarajevo was kind of the straw that broke the camels back, there was a lot of turmoil building up for awhile at that time.

 

And I suppose the thinking goes that the current American civil strife is the same level of powderbox that early 20th-century Europe was and all it needs is for someone to light the fuse. That's what I think is pathetic about their life choices -- even if they succeed in their mission, they'd still fail in their purpose.

Don't underestimate it. IMO America is more of a tinderbox then we'd like to think. I think an assassination of a major political figure would do it or a few coordinated attacks that sow confusion
