On that note, I’d guess he’s in line to be Framber’s tandem starter today. All the more reason to not use him the last couple of games.

Ideally, we can be on the right side of a laugher and get Deetz and Cionel Perez more innings.

They carried three catchers for last year's ALDS. They also carried 14 position players, and I think they might just take 13, which would put Stassi on the outs.

I think they'll value that 12th pitcher more than the 14th position player.

Rondon can't really be trusted in close games at this point. He probably makes the postseason roster but imo he can't be trusted in the back end of the pen anymore. He should get the Giles treatment going into the postseason and rarely be used in close, important spots.

Then he shouldn't be on the roster.

Giles went into the post-season as the closer... and actually was groomed to be a 6 out closer. He actually did accomplish that in ALDS game 4 and ALCS game 1. Then, he broke down.

If Rondon makes it, its because they feel he's the better 7th inning guy than Smith/Peacock/McHugh/James/Harris.

The recent trend with Rondon, it wouldn't be too far fetched to leave Rondon of the playoff roster. He has had a huge part in the last several loses

Neither of them were actually clean saves, though. 1-2-3 eighth innings followed by a homer in the each of the ninth (the one in Boston was an inside-the-parker due to a misplay, but still).

And yet, he was still their best non-starter bullpen pitcher going into the post-season.

The point is that Rondon is not. Giles had to make the roster last year. If Rondon is not going to be trusted in later-inning situations, or close games, he probably doesn't need to be on the roster.

I'm betting he's still on the roster and still gets a chance later in the game... but Pressly is still going to get the nod over him or be brought in more key situations.

With Giles being our best reliever entering the playoffs, no surprise we converted starters to relievers.

At this point I think Smith and Pressley should be ahead of Rondon in the leverage pecking order.

Him and McHugh have been decidedly less impressive over the last month. Their spot on the postseason roster is not in doubt though.

I like what you have as for the starters but James needs to be added in there he can go long or short can close if osuna or rondon aren't able to go.

Rondon can't be trusted. Shouldn't be on the playoff roster. Hopefully Lance can show something in the last few games and take his spot. This should open the door for James as well.

I wish Giles would rub off on Rondon. Rondon has now blown 6 saves. Giles is 23/23 and I think has only given up 1 run in those 23 games.

Rondon shouldn't have gotten the 8th tonight, Hinch got away with one.

Not saying he's off the postseason roster entirely, but he shouldn't be a lock. 6 straight outings with multiple baserunners.

No more high leverage for him.

Now we have an interesting question for #4 starter in the playoffs, if Morton needs a bit to recover. Have we heard anything new on McCullers?
