Certainly, and Cruz has precedent. Of course, this time I'll actually believe him. In fact, what good is an endorsement when no one believes it's heartfelt? What I don't like about it is I know the boner it gives Trump to have another man set aside his principles and bend to the will of the Donald. He'll be gloating later -- when it's politically expedient -- about how he insulted Cruz's family and Cruz came crawling back to him anyway after saying he wouldn't. And Trump will be right. Cruz bent over for him. Even though it's plainly under duress, he still bent over. As much as I hate Cruz, I respected his intelligence, his hard work, and his ideological purity. Now, there's really nothing redeeming left about him. It's kinda a high bar to set to expect someone to abandon a candidate because he endorsed another politician that person doesn't like. It's not even a policy position. Does anyone demand that much fidelity from their chosen representatives?

Nobody comes out of this looking worse than Trump except maybe the Republican primary voter but Cruz is right up there. He made an allegedly principled stand, then bent over for Trump, and now he'll never be able to wash that stench off of him.
