TLDR but if LeBron is out, I'm down

    If my choices are:

    • Lose in the western conference finals then get 34 year but still best player in the world Lebron or...
    • Win the Chip then get Prime Paul George
    Then I'm totally intrigued

Bron, PG, or bust this summer

if we manage to beat GS, then go all in on Paul George because I believe Bron isn’t coming here under that scenario

if we beat GS, then there’s no doubt that GS will try to stack up even more in order to reclaim the throne, so we’ll have to stack up some more too

Do most of you realize signing PG probably means letting Clint go?

I thought PG didn’t have a PO but apparently he does. ($20M) next year. He could opt in and trade(ie same thing as CP3) and if he did we wouldn’t have to let Clint go. But would he be leaving money on the table by opting in. But if PG would consider us AND want max money then yeah no way we could do it and hold onto Clint. We’d have to get rid of a lot of players to sign him with cap space.

Nobody (including PG himself) has seriously considered the idea he would opt in. Even PG's choice of words makes it plain he's opting out and locking in long term this summer.

yea if we win and Lebron choices else where. PG is prob a sure thing here as long as OKC fails to make the playoffs or that they lose in the first round. he was super friendly towards Harden and CP3.

btw I would let Clint go if we can get someone like DJ next season, Rumor was he wanted out and wanted to come here with CP3, thats if Capela asks for too much.
I've been comparing their stats and watched some clippers games since I'm in LA. DJ doesn't shrink against bigger players like Davis or other skilled bigs. His rebounds usually are in the 15+ and honestly I've never seen him get blocked lol just that time he got back from his injury and got blocked by the rim :p

I would rather have PG next year than Lebron. With PG, our championship window would get extended by about 5 years.

I’d rather have PG too but I think there’s less chance for him coming here than LBJ as strange as that sounds.

Get Lebron and PG in free agency and trade Ryan Anderson for Anthony Davis. That would be my strategy.

I’d take PG over LeBron at this stage of their careers. Chris Paul will probabaly be super efficient until he’s about 38 and pairing him with Harden and Paul would be nice. TBH I think PG and Harden are better friends than Bron and Harden and I honesty don’t think PG wants to be in OKC but if he does LA and HOU will probabaly be at the top oh his list.

Power forward needs to be addressed one way or the other this off season. PG would be a great option, but if it means no clint then another hole at center opens up. Nene to old, Zhou years away. Also, need to move Anderson, which to this point has been impossible.

    Best Case
    C Anderson
    PF Paul George
    SF Ariza or ?
    SG Harden
    PG CPIII

    or

    C Capela
PF (new middle of the road player. Carl Landry type)
    SF Ariza
    SG Harden
    PG CPIII

Another tough puzzle to solve, but Morey seems to be a few steps ahead of all of us, so what ever he does will be fine with me.

If we play our cards right we can have a lineup consisting of

    CP
    Harden
    PG
    Kawhi
    Lebron

    Bench: Dont care

I wonder if Presti would be ok to sign & trade him here...probably not.

    I agree with this.

PG is a preferable target to Lebron for this team.

Is a liability when we switch on D. May be a little better than Clint close to rim but big problem the further he is from paint.

Clint is the better fit. Also younger and still improving.

I am willing to sit on the bench at a rookie salary even at 34.
