    Maybe I'm missing something but this has nothing to do with Durant's ego or emotions. He wants more assets for his future team and he had leverage to achieve this goal. More stars should use this to their advantage. Yeah, a top 20 protected pick isn't great, but better than nothing.

    I'm not a Durant fanboy or anything, but this was a smart move.

    You can say this about pretty much all the popular NBA personalities on TV now - they are the personal mouthpieces for wealthy and powerful sports figures - team owners, prominent players, etc. Hell if you really think about it - it extends well beyond sports and deeply into politics.

    I’m confused. Shouldn’t the draft pick be going in the other direction to protect his ego?

    This sounds like he thinks his new team was getting a raw deal trading Russell for him straight up.

    Yeah, not only wasn't a SnT any benefit to Brooklyn, it hard-capped them. You'd have to expect to be compensated for that.
