Yea he only started 1 game last year as a redshirt junior. He was probably another grad transfer away from losing a starting spot again.

I'm pretty positive the season is getting cancelled. If they decide to start it, it'll get canceled midway though once the cold comes back and the virus picks up. My guess is they don't court this season as a year in eligibility so players can come back if they want.

We're a long way from having to cancel fall college sports. Based on current modeling and observations, I think it's more likely than not that they do play, even if it's without fans.

Chip Brown reporting that he is going to get a substantial raise although I doubt that was the deciding factor. Hopefully he is just wanting to simplify things with a smaller private institute.

    Isn't this a downgrade move?

Emory... is mainly known for it's medical school, no? This is pretty odd.

Reading up on this, Claire Sterk (former Emory President) made $1.6M last year compared to Fenves' $954K. Assuming he'll get that and possibly more, that's a substantial raise to go to a much smaller (less than a 1/3 of the students) and very rich private school with near ivy-league academics. Also found this interesting comment back from 2016:

It's a good time for universities to be laying out huge salaries to administrators given their revenue and endowments are collapsing.

This will be a huge issue for Universities whose revenue and endowment rely so heavily on sports, not so much for a school like Emory IMO.

    Per 247:

Texas will be getting immediate wide receiver help in the 2021 class.

Former Michigan wide receiver Tarik Black announced via his Instagram that he will be transferring to Texas for the fall. The former Wolverine made the decision to move on from Ann Arbor following a three-year career as a Wolverine.

A former four-star recruit out of Ceshire (CT) Cheshire Academy, Black was a part of Jim Harbaugh’s 2017 class at Michigan. The former U.S. Army All-American chose Michigan over offers from Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Miami, Mississippi State and several others.

And if he can stay healthy. Guy hasn’t been able to stay on the field.

Texas also picked up 4* CB Jahdae Barron who was granted a full release from his LOI with Baylor recently. Rated as the #9 CB in the country per 247. Big addition to the 2020 class where we had only signed one CB.

I would just like to point out that the UT-Michigan Rose Bowl is a fantastic and easily re-watchable ballgame, it's on right now.

    So not playing ?
This just means someone else gets your job

Could protest another way and not lose any chance of his future NFL career

it’s not like longhorn receivers are getting drafted high

I'm sure if Eagles doesn't want to play, I'm sure they will be able to find somebody to replace him.
