    The guy is incredibly gritty.

What a weird streak. I guess a blind hog finds an acorn every now and then. Shaka's "let the guard iso for 20 seconds" offense is "working" as best it can.

Unfortunately, if they make the tournament (and especially if they win a game), I don't see any way they fire Shaka. The buyout is just too large.

Shaka’s not going anywhere right now. This recent hot streak, on a depleted roster no less, buys him another season easily. Enjoy!

I do believe that everyone comes back next year, so that's his waterloo.

    I'm heavily for replacing him...

HOWEVER, given the fact that there's not really one good, obvious, get-able name I can think of.... meh, I guess I'll take the hot streak.

They're still on the bubble. Sure, they should beat OKState and maybe get a conference tournament win or two... but Big 12 basketball is generally horrible at the moment except for 2 teams. If they falter either Saturday or the first tourney game, they're still on the bubble.

Hope he’s better than Bamba at UT. Think he will be.

still. Need Shaka to coach much better.

how’s the rest of the class?

Theoretically UT should kick ass next season. Do or die for Shaka.

Hayes was a high energy talent that didn't necessarily need the program because Hayes came back from injury to help lead UT to the nit championships.

Don't forget, Shaka smart even brought jaxon Hayes (new Orleans pelicans) off the bench during the nit tournament perhaps fearing Hayes might get hurt again.

Yeah, the upside is actually pretty up...

That includes real improvement from Kai and Baker, recognizing Cunningham's worth as a hustle guy earlier, Sims staying another year as he should and getting better, Greg Brown being really good and the guards being experienced.

They're literally about 12 deep, they should play with some serious tempo. We'll see.

It would be a joy to see jaxon Hayes have a great nba career while Coleman, fabres, and roach have no career working at gatti's pizza for a career!

I thought Greg had a G-league offer of 500k. It be really stupid if he turned that down for this.

Believe it was 300k but still a lot to turn down. That is good money for a lot of kids coming out but guess we’ll see if going to the G-League route and playing well is more beneficial than going the college route in the long run.

Guys like Turner and Bamba didn’t seem to hurt their stock much despite playing relatively mediocre at Texas. Wondering if they would have projected had they gone the G-League route and played about the same or likely worse given the competition.

I watched some of it...you could tell he was nervous early (missed his first 6 shots, iirc) but man oh man does the talent stand out.

Will Baker transferring. Not surprising, especially after he never saw the court in the opener.

What is Shaka's problem with playing up tempo? We have a deep rotation but little in the way of halfcourt offense.
