Why is that hard to believe? He is from Nigeria, like his idol, Olajuwon. He gets to follow inDreams footsteps. He also has family in Houston.
The kid just started playing ball a year ago. He hasn't even played varsity, but blew up in AAU ball after a dominant performance against Cameron Ridley (top 25 national player headed to Texas). He needs to hit the weight room, but his coach believes he will grow another 2-3 inches and be an immediate force defensively. Believe me, his ranking has everything to do with his lack of experience. The kid has loads of potential.
Very true. It's all about development. He could turn out to be above average or merely serviceable like Mamadou Diene. The blocks really do stand out though. Some of these kids are hard to guage initially. That's why we see 5 star recruits not panning out. J'mison Morgan who is a transfer from UCLA to Baylor was a 5 star recruit that didn't look particularly good last season.
This is awesome! Also, keep in mind Joseph Young who initially went to Providence will be in the fold! Looking up!
I'm excited to see him play this year. Stiggers is supposed to be good too. Next year though looks like we'll have a good amount of talent.
Clyde Drexler, Hakeem Olajuwon, Elvin Hayes? Why wouldn't they want to play for University of Houston? UH BASKETBALL HAS HISTORY! GO COOGS!
There's some (rumor) noise that UH is about to pick up two more local top prospects...Wannah Bail and Michael Carey. They're supposed to make their intentions known this weekend (Sunday). If UH picks these guys up...the 2012/13 incoming class looks sick!
damn. that's good. where is oprah at? cause you're getting an escalade, and youre getting an escalade!
lol that made me crack up. interesting that we may get more for next season bc everyone was writing that we were done recruiting for that class. looks like we will have to make some cuts if these recruits do commit to UH. great problem to have though.
Definitely a great problem to have. I know its heartbreaking for kids to get cut, but if it improves the overall talent level of the team, then its worth it.
i plan to make every home game that i am in town for this season. who knows, this might be the last season at the big H before the reno.
