It would be a majority but not a vast majority. I would say that a majority are more socially liberal while being rather centrist to libertarian in terms of government regulation. From a engineering perspective, there was a study that showed that engineering professors are the most conservative of any other field of professors but even then the ratio was for every 1 conservative leaning engineering professors there were 1.8 liberal leaning professors. I personally never encountered a "conservative" engineering professor in my education but then again I attended a liberal Massachusetts university and engineering classes are rather apolitical and professors rarely veer off topic.

Because Conservatives are aggressive, Vindictive and hateful towards Minorities, Non-Christians, LGBT, Foreigners, and Progressives. They want America to look be one color with no diversity.
